This Privacy Policy explains how OffshoreTid processes information when you use the app. OffshoreTid is designed for shift calendars, travel planning, weather information, OBS reports, phone lists and certificates.
1. Who is responsible?
OffshoreTid is the developer and data controller for information that the app stores or sends on your behalf.
Contact:
offshoretid@gmail.com
2. Information stored locally
The app is primarily local. The following information may be stored on your device when you choose to use these features:
- shift calendars, rotation plans, installations and travel information
- OBS reports and report history
- phone lists, certificates, settings and selected themes
- local weather and map cache used to display recently retrieved data
This information is not sent to OffshoreTid through a user account and is not used for profiling.
You control when this information is deleted by deleting entries, clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
3. Weather, flight and position data
When you request weather or flight information, the app sends only the technical parameters needed for the request, such as:
- coordinates for the selected heliport or installation
- flight number
- selected time period
- selected weather or map area
This data is used to display weather, maps, flight status and flight probability information.
For mobile installations, the app may send a verified MMSI to the OffshoreTid Cloudflare Worker. The Worker requests the latest AIS position from BarentsWatch, returns normalized coordinates and temporarily caches the result for up to one hour.
The Worker does not receive OBS reports, calendar data, passwords or user accounts.
Weather and flight requests are sent to or through external providers such as MET Norway, Avinor, BarentsWatch/Kystverket and Cloudflare. These providers may process technical network information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the service, maintain security and prevent misuse.
OffshoreTid does not use this information for advertising or tracking.
4. Camera, images, calendar and location
The app requests access only when you start a feature that requires it, for example:
- QR scanning
- OCR scanning of phone lists
- calendar synchronization
- optional location-based features
Images and OCR content are processed locally in the app and are not uploaded to OffshoreTid.
Calendar synchronization only writes entries that you explicitly choose to add to your device calendar. It does not overwrite other calendar data.
If you grant location permission, your location is used only for the selected feature. OffshoreTid does not continuously track your location or build a location history.
5. Subscriptions and payments
OffshoreTid may require an automatically renewing annual subscription, with a possible 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
Purchases, payments, trial periods, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play.
OffshoreTid does not receive your card number or bank details. The app receives only the purchase status needed to enable its features.
6. Sharing, tracking and advertising
OffshoreTid does not include advertising, third-party advertising tracking or user accounts in this version.
The app does not sell personal information.
Reports, calendar data and phone-list data are not automatically sent to other people or services.
When you choose to copy, share or open an external website, this happens only after your active choice.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data is retained until you delete it or clear the app data.
AIS positions in the Cloudflare cache normally have a lifetime of one hour.
External data providers may have their own logging and retention policies. Please refer to their privacy policies for further information.
Contact offshoretid@gmail.com if you need assistance with deletion or access requests.
8. Security
BarentsWatch client secrets are stored only in the server environment and are not included in the mobile app.
Communication with supported services takes place over HTTPS.
You should still protect your device, backups and shared reports, because OffshoreTid cannot control who you choose to share information with.
9. Changes and contact
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app's data processing changes.
The current version will be published on this page.
